I am Alan Frost a Blue Badge qualified tour guide living in Bodmin, in the centre of the wonderful county of Cornwall which is the furthest South and West of the counties of South West England. We may be surrounded and influenced by the sea but there is so much confined within such a small area it makes Cornwall such an interesting and exciting place to visit. No wonder Cornwall is the UK’s favourite all year round ‘staycation’ destination and attracts visitors from all over the world.
From lively holiday resorts such as Newquay to small harbours such as Boscastle the sea and coastline has influenced Cornish life for generations. Inland we have the granite mass of Bodmin Moor ideal for get away from it all seclusion. Industrial heritage and pre-historic sites are to be found all over Cornwall, many are included within the Cornwall and West Devon UNESCO World Heritage Site. Miles of old railway lines have now been regenerated into cycle tracks. Not forgetting our wonderful gardens and preserved houses, many, not all, owned by the National Trust
For many years Cornwall has attracted writers and artists and is much used as a location for film and television production such as Poldark and Doc Martin.
Cornwall offers accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets from luxury hotels to farmhouse holidays and camping.
Cornwall has probably had more written about it than any other county in England and when you visit you will understand why.
Although I live in Cornwall I also guide in Devon which has its own special place in my life as I was born there! I can also guide in places such as Bath, Bristol, Plymouth and Exeter to name just a few.
I could guide you from your coach, minibus or private car and of course on foot. I do not run my own private hire vehicles but that means you could hire a vehicle suitable for your own requirements, with a professional driver who would be familiar with the area.
Tours are planned on the basis of your interests and requirements, not mine!
I am a member of the Institute of Tourist Guiding, The Association of West Country Tour Guides and The British Guild of Tourist Guides. I have Public Liability Insurance through the AWCTG. I have been engaged by companies such as Kuoni, British and Irish Walks, Place-Voyages (France) and shoreside excursion companies for cruise ship visits to South West ports such as Falmouth and Portland.
