You can cycle or walk the old mineral railways now converted into easy and child friendly trails, such as the 18 mile Camel Trail. Visit our magnificent gardens and historic houses many owned by the National Trust and English Heritage. Walk the Cornish section of the South West Coast Path some 230 miles in length, en route stopping off to explore the amazing beaches, the remains of our mineral mining heritage and picturesque seaside harbours and villages. Visit places such as Port Isaac, the ‘home’ of Doc Martin and the Fishermen’s Friends, Padstow made famous by chef Rick Stein and St Ives renown for its amazing location and artists studios.
Apart from the magnificent coastline of Cornwall, there is the granite ‘backbone’ of Cornwall which includes Bodmin Moor and the UNESCO world heritage sites dedicated to the mineral mining heritage of Cornwall. Both are worth spending time to explore, using the many well signposted public footpaths. Ordnance Survey maps and local publications can assist you in planning your trip.
